Magical Blogorail Yellow: A Surprise from my Disney Bucket List

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Yellow.  Enjoy the ride as we share with you the one item from our Disney Bucket List that we are most excited to experience!

I happen to have a VERY exstensive Disney bucket list, so picking one to highlight in this post was not an easy task for me.  I had to think long and hard... and I'm not even sure the one a chose is actually attainable, but here goes:

I guess I'll begin by giving you a clue and then a TINY peek into my Disney Bucket List:

First Clue:

A Few Items from my Disney Bucket List:
  • Explore Asia with Adventures by Disney
  • Spend a night in Cinderella Castle
  • Dine at the iconic Club 33 at Disneyland
  • Renew my vows at The Grand Floridian Wedding Pavillion
  • Snag a coveted spot on the Disney Moms Panel
Out of all the absolutely "DREAMY" items on my list, the one I'm about to share with you may seem rather commonplace , unexciting, and maybe even a little wacky to me, however, it would be such a MAGICAL, I wanted to share something about me that you wouldn't expect!

Here's a Another Clue:

Sshh...This is me trying to snag the "Golden Spoon"

Oh how I would LOVE to spend an evening cooking alongside the Disney Signature Chefs...  I know, you're surprised, huh!  I actually LOVE to cook...almost as much as I like to eat!  I am a chef by trade and my husband and I own a restaurant and one of my favorite Disney pasttimes is dining in Disney Signature Restaurants.  The creative culinary talent found throughout the Disney Signature Restaurants is Amazing.  It would just be a dream come true to work alongside some of my favorite Chefs such as Brian Piasecki from California Grill or Victoria and Albert's Chef Scott Hunnel... and if not actually cooking, I'd just love to just watch from behind-the-scenes.

Chef Brian Piasecki (L) and Chef Scott Hunnel (R)

I know what you're thinking... "who would want to "work" while at Disney?"  To me, having an experience like this would be inspirational and magical!  I have dined at almost every Signature restaurant, with the exception of Jiko and Bistro de Paris and I would love to experience the behind-the-scenes efforts of those kitchens first-hand.   I am a self-professed "Disney Foodie" which means I admire all apects of Dining in Disney...not just eating.

A Busy Night, as usual, at California Grill

I have had the opportunity to dine at California Grill several times and have even met Chef Piasecki!  I admire his talent and unique flair for west-coast cuisine.  I think he could probably teach me a few tricks in the kitchen!

I have not met Chef Scott Hunnel from Victoria and Albert's, but was lucky enough to dine there last March and to my surprise, we were personally invited by Sous Chef, Amy, to tour the kitchen!!! This was a great opportunity to take a glimpse "inside" and is an experience which may be partially responsible for this wacky bucket-list item!

So, there you have it!  Hope you have enjoyed learning about my wackiest Disney-Bucket List item and a little bit about me in the process!

Love your bucket list...I've been lucky to dine at Club 33, and it's worthy of being on the list.

We also met Chef Amy on our last visit to V&A's..she's awesome. We were just sitting at our table, and the server approached and asked if we'd like a tour of the kitchen and meet the chef. I was in heaven:)

I don't think it's wacky at all. Every time we're visiting Disney, I dream of working there!

What a great idea! I've never really thought about what goes on behind the scenes in Disney Restaurants! You've opened my eyes! :P

That would be amazing!

What a great bucket list! Many of those items are on my own Disney bucket list. I never even thought of putting something like that on my list. I cook all the time, but it's not a passion. What I would LOVE to do is see behind the scenes with the bakers/cake decorators!

Your bucket list looks amazing!! Although I am not a good cook and wouldn't want to cook with the Chef's at Disney, I would love to do the Chef's Table dinner at Victoria & Albert's. I think it would be just amazing to experience!

How cool would that be?! I would not be surprised to hear sometime that you were able to arrange it :) And when that happens, I can't wait to hear all about it!

Btw, I want on that Moms Panel too!

What a fabulous bucket list! No, I don't think that's wacky at all. I think it's wonderful that you have a passion for cooking. I love to cook as well and would cook, watch, whatever next to any of those chefs:)

I enjoy your bucket list, but working at Disney is not so unusual. My dream is to simply push a broom down main street and help guests coming and going.

Christina: you should see the b-dat cake the Yacht Club Pastry Chef baked for DDs Birthday a few weeks ago. I'll post pics soon!

Bruce: what a great dream. This was a weird one for me, since I work in a kitchen every day!
